Amor Exploring

Because yesterday was a special day it bumped my new “Foodie Tuesday”‘ post. Anyone who knows me well will know I love good food, coffee, wine, along with the occasional sweet delight.

My ‘travel treat’ when I go through a new town with a bakery is a great vanilla slice. You will see plenty of reviews on the good, bad and ugly over the years… hmmmm maybe even a dedicated ”Bakeries of Oz” scavenger hunt map. Let me know if you have a fav bakery I should add to the must do list for a vanilla slice.😉

Fresh and glorious food at Foreshore Restaurant Cafe Darwin, NT
Canterlope/Rock melon feta toast at the Foreshore Restaurant Cafe Darwin, NT

This fresh canterlope/ rockmelon (very interesting conversations have been had over the years about the correct name) was a delicious breakfast that I enjoyed overlooking the ocean in Darwin. Crumbled fetta and a drizzle of a sweet balsamic vinegar really made this meal pop.

The Foreshore Restaurant and Cafe in Nightcliff is. located next to the local swimming pool on a very scenic drive around the coast. There is also a sealed walking path around to explore the pool area, cliffs and watch the waves to top off a great day.

Dining options include the indoor tables, alfresco on theír patio or lounging in the bean bags on the grass under an oversized umbrella. The perfect place to take a book, journal or laptop for some work or meet a friend for hour long coffees. I might have even had a Tinder coffee date here but that’s a tale for another day.

This little local gem serves beautiful fresh smoothies and has an extensive food menu and was always busy on my visits.
